1: Most episodes are shot in a single 8 hour day
using a Glidecam 2000 Pro or handheld camera
work.
2: The show is filmed on location in a real
doctor's office in Suffolk County, Long Island
during their off-hours.
3: To date, Pilot 2 "Hood Cat" has the largest
cast of Day Players out of all the episodes shot
as of September 2, 2009.
4: Pilot 2 "Hood Cat" is also referred to as the
"Grayscale Episode" because it is the only
episode in black & white.
5: Bob Socci's one-time role was expanded after
the director decided the character would make a
good regular.
6: Pilot 1 "Rabies Man" was shot on June 10,
2009 - the director's birthday.
7: Most episodes are shot in clusters of 2, 1
each week and then production normally takes
three weeks off to prepare for the next 2.
8: Episode 4 "Two If By Sea" was the first to be
written entirely be director Eric Norcross, inspired
by a Longfellow poem.
9: Many Long Island locals are used as Day
Players on the show. Robert Youngren, the lead
is a native and resident of Long Island.
10: The opening sequence utilizes clips from
Pilot 1, plus footage of the surrounding area shot
specifically for the opening.
11: Most of the scripts are written so that the
cast can easily improvise if changes in content
have to be made on the fly.
12: The band used in Episode 3 "Rock Band" is
local Long Island metal band "Without Remorse".
Matthew Martens of the cast is in this band.
13: The opening "theme song" is called "Stretch
Armstrong" by Angry Salad, from their 1999 self
titled debut album.
14: All episodes are shot with a Canon XH-A1
1080i HDV Camera, rolling at 60 interlaced
frames per second.
15: Every episode is approximately 20 minutes,
cut down from approximately 90 minutes of raw
footage.
16: The production requires half the cast/crew to
commute via the Long Island Railroad to Suffolk
County, Long Island from Manhattan on the day
of the shoot.
